The rather early budding and the uncomplicated flowering period in June were positive, while unusually early hailstorms caused the first setbacks. The moisture remained throughout the entire vegetation period, which led to a corresponding disease pressure, especially for downy mildew. Sugar ripening in the grapes also progressed slowly due to the cool, damp weather in September and October, although some very fine days in the second half of October and the first half of November ensured pleasant harvest conditions.
