Since the turn of the year, we have been hard at work in the vineyard pruning our vines. Every day, weather permitting.
Winter pruning can be carried out during the entire foliage-free period. The more sensitive the variety and the colder the weather, the later it should be pruned, even into March. This makes it easier to correct frost damage that occurs after harsh winters.
Winter pruning also plays a decisive role in determining the yield in the following fall. As a general rule of thumb: 10 – 20 eyes per m2 remain, no more!
