We are delighted that our concept with the local white wine varieties Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, made according to the port wine method, was the winner at the first major tasting. The method is the same as in Porto itself, but adapted with Austrian grape varieties. The fruit of the respective grape variety paired with the sugar of the grape and the alcohol results in a delicious port-style liqueur wine.
For the Grüner Veltliner, we have since matured the base wine from 2015 in wooden barrels, while the current vintage for the Riesling is 2016.
