Sauvignon Blanc sparkling wine 2001 – disgorged May 2003

Tasting notes from the Steininger family

Golden-yellow color, shows beautiful ripe tones, reflected in the aroma and taste. With hints of ripe pear and lychee, underlined with noticeable residual sugar, for people who can deal with mature sparkling wines.

Wine year 2001

A mild and dry winter was followed by an equally dry spring with the vines budding as planned. After an early summer period in May and problem-free flowering in mid-June, a cool, rainy July ensured rainfall and recovery for the plants. August was hot and sunny, but September brought a prolonged period of rain, which was only replaced at the end of the month by equally prolonged fine weather throughout October. The white wines are largely characterized by varietal typicity and good acidity structure, fruit depth and piquancy.
