Wine year 2009

The winter was rather average. There was no shortage of moisture in the spring. It was the wettest March since meteorological records have been kept. Hail caused an unwanted thinning effect in some areas for the first time. The weather in the fall was at its best. The “Indian summer” allowed the juice in the berries to concentrate naturally and the sugar storage was enormous.

Hot days and cool nights managed to preserve the characteristic aromas in the berries of Austria’s flagship varieties.
