Grüner Veltliner sparkling wine 2004 – Degogiert December 2006
Tasting notes from the Steininger family
The special thing about mature sparkling wines is the effect of the carbon dioxide on the taste. 2004 was more of an average vintage; with the Grüner Veltliner Sekt 2004, this vintage is refreshed with the fine perlage of the sparkling wine.
Clear, subtle ripe fruit, yet still light on its feet. Currently pure drinking pleasure.

Wine year 2004
Budding was delayed as the weather continued to be damp and cool in places. Due to the lack of sunshine in May and June, flowering also began later and was sometimes affected by heavy rain.
A persistently cool and rainy July further delayed ripening. The turnaround came with a gloriously sunny August and a similarly beautiful September with low night-time temperatures, which ensured good aroma development. After the harvest of the early varieties began, a rainy period set in, which lasted intermittently throughout October.
