Burgundy sparkling wine 2003

Tasting notes from the Steininger family

A warm, hot vintage and an early harvest are also clearly noticeable in the sparkling wine. Warm, rising, almost Christmassy notes on the nose. Broad and soft, little recognizable acidity, dry and long.

Tasting notes by Thomas Werani

Nuts, subtle exoticism; pure power, but never clumsy, wonderful interplay of sweetness and acidity, incredibly creamy, Burgundian texture, creaminess countered by vibrating acidity, that’s great!

Wine year 2003

The vineyards suffered from an acute water shortage in 2003. Insufficient rainfall, which for the most part has only occurred sporadically in the form of thunderstorms, is hardly easing the situation.

However, increased attention must be paid to the careful cultivation of the vineyards.
